The familiar front page of my former website has been retired, as well as the $85.00 monthly charge it cost me. I encouraged everyone to download their information by the end of May, although I left the encrypted portal online and available through the end of August. It's now gone. I no longer have an encrypted portal to exchange data with you, but I have all your records maintained offline and will respond to any questions that might arise related to them or any work I may have done for you. I genuinely thank each of you for the trust and confidence you have given to me over the many years I’ve had the privilege of earning it. THANK YOU! It has been an exceptional privilege to have served so many folks for so long.
I did not renew my CPA license for 2021 and am hanging up my guns. I just didn’t’ feel like spending another 80 hours in continuing education. I turned 74 this year and have chased these interminable and chaotic tax law changes for way too many years. In 2018, although the standard deduction increases did simplify the actual filing for many wage earners, Trump muddled the law to the advantage of wealthy investors and landlords at the expense of struggling small businesses and employees. It is discouraging to see how politicians can persist in advancing the interests of themselves and their wealthy supporters.
As we go forward, I hope you’ll recognize our joint responsibility to understand and advocate for a fairer tax system. I’ll happily explain the implications of any proposed tax law changes, both currently and prospectively, so that you can better understand how and who it might impact, hopefully enabling you to make a well informed decision as to whether to support or oppose it.
Again, THANK YOU!! Please don’t hesitate to email or otherwise contact me. My email address remains firstname.lastname@example.org and my office phone is still (801) 944-1099. Don’t be a stranger!
